Baby/Face Wipes...FINALLY

I have FINALLY made my own baby wipes/face wipes (yes I wipe my face at night with the same wipe, ok not the SAME wipe haha, I wipe Taitum's butt with).  I purposely did not buy wipes when I was running so I could try out what I found on white house, black shutters via Pinterest. Um...these are AMAZING!!!

Here is Ann Marie's tutorial.

Here is what I used:

Here is what mine looked like after I cut the roll in half with my non-serrated knife...maybe my knife wasn't sharp enough...hahaha

I only have 1 tupperware that holds 7 cups so I made the 2 cup mixture in my 4 cup measuring cup (which was good because it definitely "allowed for splashing" like Ann Marie states).

I mixed 2 cups of water, a heaping spoon of coconut oil (i had to liquefy mine...I put the heaping spoonful into a saucepan with about a tablespoon amount of water and it melted in no time), and a squirt of the night-time bath soap and then poured it into my container, put half my roll in, squished it down and flipped it over!

This works BEAUTIFULLY!!! I didn't have the "select your size" but it still works fantastic!

I'm going to get more plastic-wear becuase right now I'm taking this one upstairs and downstairs haha...at least 2 more will be made...one upstairs...one upstairs...and one in the bathroom mixed with Cetaphil Face Wash instead of baby soap haha.

Buffet transformation!!

Alright...our kitchen had an echo...echo...echo and I saw this on Centsational Girl and wanted to try it out!!

So I found this on Craigslist for $25! My mother in law bought me a sander for my birthday WOOO & I had paint so I only purchased the spray paint for the handles, glass & I think that's it!...All of the drawers were there I just had taken 4 of them out before taking this picture...

This was B$@&$!!! I say I will never do it again but I know that's a total lie haha.

Come to find out it wasn't real wood (go figure haha), HEAVY, & the drawers were separate from the face of the drawers (where the handles are) so I had to pry those off to get the handles because this thing was just dumb haha. Lots of laughs & soreness later...I had it all disassembled...

First, I sanded the whole thing...then I used wood filler to fill all of the holes I didn't need anymore (oh I bought that...the return rack at the home depot for $6 for 2!!...I LOVE the return rack...especially the $5 gallons of paint!)...so anyways. I putty'd the holes, let those dry...sanded again and then...

PAINTED!!...THE WHOLE THING! My husband said I was crazy but I love how it turned out!!

(It's more of an antiquey/shabby color than the picture shows...yes i'm a doofus and filled ALL of the holes...I originally thought I was going to get new handles/knobs and then came up with spray painting the original one's silver...again...doing things the hard way)

For the doors I wanted to have glass so we could see what was in there...my husband showed me how to cut the centers and I still have all of my fingers so...SUCCESS. They aren't the straightest but hey...you can't tell ;-) and I am noooo perfectionist.

The glass was easy...I bought 2 pieces of glass and a glass cutting kit for about $10...much cheaper than the "plastic that looked like glass" and it is soooo easy!

Ok...I sealed the glass with Gorilla glue haha and then my husband helped me put wood pieces on but they aren't going anywhere (I'll get a pic up soon)...this is all because I cut the hole in the doors flat...I didn't cut a "lip" for the glass to just sit into if that makes sense...like a picture frame. I didn't do that but I like it :).

I LOVE IT!!! Love my yellow walls and the the white buffet & I just found the rest of the knobs (I'm an unorganized mess but it works for me haha) so I will get them all sprayed silver & attached!

YAY!!! What do you think??

Frame how you want it!!

I found this on Craftily Every After via TipJunkie...and I just turned on the heater!! It's getting cold for me in San Diego haha...i am self proclaimed cold weather wimp :)

anyhow...here is my insirpation!!

In my fantastical Pick Your Plum mystery box I received a blank frame and a mini mod podge AND sponge brushes...OMG and so much more...I can't wait until they do it again...so here we go...this is so easy

Materials I used:

Scrapbook Paper (something with a fun a pattern is good...
otherwise you may as well just paint your frame)
Mod Podge
Sponge brush or a sponge works too (I use a sponge something because
a brush with bristles leave bristley marks)
sandpaper
rick rack
some fabric
an embellishment (I used a button)
I know...some stuff isn't pictured :)

Well it's pretty easey...trace out your frame on your scrapbook paper and cut that out...Throw some mod podge on your frame and get your paper on there.

Now here's what mine looked like

I took my sandpaper and rubbed it from to back on the frame so the extra paper would come off and I got a clean edge like this:

and then I "distressed" the corners and inside the frame a little bit so it didn't look so perfect and then threw on mod podge on the top:

Then I went inside to look through my "crap" closet...it's organized chaos that will get organized...soon...don't judge...I know where everything is haha

Here is what I came out with...a piece of fabric from my jeans I hemmed, rick rack & a button from my Pick Your Plum cool box!! Grabbed the hot glue and scissors and sat down :)

I cut out 4 "flowery" shapes...cut off a piece of brown rick rack (yes that is Momma Rake's rick rack flower tutorial in the background haha), made little petals from the "flower" shapes, hot glued to the button and VOILA!!

Then I hot glued it onto my frame!!!

Now it just needs a picture!!!  Best part...you can create it however you like!! and if you have everything at home..it's free!!!

ENJOY!!!

WOW!!!

Oh my gosh...the first thought when I checked my email...throughout the day haha....was WOW!! I HAVE FOLLOWERS!!!

Thanks for spreading the word and welcome!!!

I am still getting my feet wet in the blog world and I'm working on getting all of my projects on here, trying to make sure this is organized and trying to keep of track of everyone and reminding myself to follow you all back...so bear with me haha...I will get better!

Like Pidg, I totally have "shiny object" syndrome, so if I get all over the place on some of my posts it's because something popped in my head that, if I don't write/type it down...I'll forget...or it was just important or funny that I HAD to share haha.

anyways...I can't find my glasses...the first pair I left at the airport security last year or maybe a couple years ago and Emma and I had to mooooooooooooove it to our gate and we were waaaaaaay too far away when I realized it...lame...so I got a new AWESOME pair...Emma thought, hey these are cool..I'm gonna play with them...no not cool...now I can't see so the hunt will begin tomorrow..."yay".  I really like them...they're green and fun..i wiiiilllllll find them!!!

so Monday was Halloween!!! Yes I am late but I figure I'm going to get this all out there because yesterday...was pretty unproductive except for a couple crafts we did in the morning so...Halloween...super super fun...The girls and I met up with our awesome friends, Nina and Sophie, at Sea World (boo there was no candy or entertainment but it was still super fun). Then we went to our old neighborhood and did the awesome trick or treating!!

Tuesday...not so exciting (I think we were all tired) but I was able to bust out the turkey onesie and mod-podged frame (coming soon...promise) with rick rack flower!!

Now today...was fun! we hit up the park in Coronado and then we went for a nice walk on the boardwalk on the bay and had an awesomely huge cupcake at Coronado Cupcakery and Emma chased the gross pigeons around...Taitum mastered the "sort of" holding her bottle technique...back home for "breakfast for dinner" and then bed...not too shabby. OH OH...and Emma went pee on the toilet ALL DAY!!! NO ACCIDENTS (we are potty training..yes she is 3...she is very stubborn and well...she's getting it done)

(I looooove Picasa's collage button hahaha...can you tell?)

I have so much more to share but I'm totally going cross-eyed...GAH I NEED MY GLASSES!!!! More tooooomorrow!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I will get more uploaded tomorrow...gotta hit the sack and try to get up on time tomorrow morning...haha I know...funny :)

Turkey Onesie...NO SEW

Turkey "No-Sew" Onesie!!

OK...Once I learn how to use my sewing machine then these will be washable heehee but as of right now...Let's hear it for the hot glue gun!! WOOOO!! YAY!!

Pinterest Inspiration:

Source: etsy.com via Lisa on Pinterest

Materials:

Brown Onesie
Festive Felt (I used red, yellow, green & blue for the "tail")
White felt circles (eyes)
Black smaller felt circles (eyes)
Red (turkey thing haha)
Orange felt triangle (beak)
Glue Gun
Little Bow (if it's for a little girl)
scissors
marker

alright here's how I did it:

I cut out rectangle shapes for the feathers and just free handed the shape with a permanent marker.  I cut those out and placed them on the butt of the onesie and put some glue and the tips and then glued them on to make sure they stayed.

*Note: The onesie I had on hand had these ruffles so I made the feathers shorter.

After that I flipped the onesie over to do the face.

I found this to be easiest...

Put the beak where you want it and then place the white eyes on top so when you pick up the beak to put glue on, you know where to put it back :). Then glue the whites down, glue the black part down in the middles (cross-eyed look), glue down your turkey wattle (I just free-handed it from the inspiration photo and then cut it out...yes backwards haha).

I added a little bow because I have girls!

THAT'S IT!! Super easy right!! and if you have all of this in your house it's totally free!!

Taitum sporting her Turkey Onesie and Festive Halloween Hair Bow!!! And Emma helping Taitum sit haha..When I hold Taitum, it looks like the feathers are coming out of her skirt hahaha

I'm thinking of making another one with a tutu for my crazy 3 year old!!! I'll let you know how that turns out!
